PROJECT: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

Throughout this quarter we have been focusing on human, computer interaction.  As a final project you will research and put together a presentation on artificial intelligence and machine learning.  Your presentation must cover the following topics:

1. What is intelligence?
2. What is machine learning?  Please explain in detail.
3. What is artificial intelligence?  Please explain in detail.
4. How are machine learning and artificial intelligence connected?
5. Find one example of machine learning that is often used today.  Explain what your example does, how people use and interact with it, and how it is machine learning. Make sure to include a picture of your machine learning example.
6. Find one example of artificial intelligence that is commonly used today.  Explain what your example does, how people use and interact with it, and why it is considered AI. Make sure to include a picture of your artificial intelligence example.
7. State your opinion on whether you think that computers have actually become intelligent or not.  Explain your reasoning behind your opinion. (**Hint: Think about the ability to infer.)
8. A reference page that lists any websites or resources you used in your presentation.

You can create your presentation using Google Slides or VoiceThread. If you would like to use a different presentation tool, please ask your teacher.

Make sure to use all the different tools that you have learned throughout the unit to help you with your research.  Review the lesson that covers tricks to more effectively use a search engine.  Also make sure to evaluate each website and make sure it is reliable before you use it.

Please make sure the majority of your presentation is stated in your own words. If you would like to quote an article or a definition, please make sure to properly reference where you found the quote. Points will not be given for presentations which are completely made up of copied and pasted quotes from other articles!  Once again, I need the majority of your presentation to be in your own words.

Once you have completed your project, you must update the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning page AND the Unit 1 Human and Computer Interaction page of your Exploring Computer Science Portfolio.

Instructions for submitting a Google Slide presentation:

• When you have completed your presentation in Google Slides, click Share in the right hand corner
  
• Change the sharing setting to Anyone at Mountain Heights Academy can comment. This will allow your teacher to comment on your project.
  
• Click Copy Link
  
• To submit your assignment, return to this page and click Add Submission
  
• Paste the link to your Google Doc in the box (cntl+v)
  
• Click Save Changes to submit your assignment

• Paste the link to your updated portfolio below the link to your project in the text box below.
