Intonation

STEP 1) You have listened to many poems being read throughout the course. Revisit these poems and their presentations. Listen to how the speakers use different speed, pitch and emphasis in their speech.

STEP 2) Watch the following videos on word stress and intonation. Most of you are native English speakers. However, when presenting and reciting poetry, you need to carefully choose what syllables you are stressing, and what intonation you are using.

STEP 3) You will be beginning to create your Voicethread for your Final Project. Part of the assignment is to record yourself reciting your poem. Think about how you will use intonation in your recordings.
