Endangered Species: Panda

There are many species worldwide that are facing extinction. One such endangered species is the panda bear. The Chinese government estimates that there are fewer than 1,000 pandas living in the wild. The panda bears are endangered due to the destruction of their natural habitat due to logging and farming. In an effort to save the panda bears, the Chinese government has established reserves to protect their habitat. Also, captivity breeding programs are attempting to increase their population numbers.
