Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is the process by which plants convert the Sun's light into energy. Most of the energy introduced into an ecosystem occurs through the process of photosynthesis. Animals consume plants in order to gain energy from them, so they benefit indirectly from photosynthesis.

Photosynthesis uses carbon dioxide(CO2), water and sunlight to create glucose, which is a type of sugar.

Here is the equation for photosynthesis: 6CO2 + 6H2O —› C6H12O6 + 6O2.
